Transforming Sioux Falls Homes for Over 60 Years
The annual Showcase of Remodeled Homes is more than an event—it’s an invitation to see what’s possible when vision meets craftsmanship. Each year, families across Sioux Falls and the surrounding area tour homes transformed through bold design and construction. It’s a chance to walk through inspiration and discover how a home can be reimagined into something extraordinary.
This year, Hjellming Construction is proud to be featured with a remodel in Harrisburg, South Dakota. This project reflects what remodeling means for families: creating spaces that truly fit the way they live.
Our Featured Remodel
This full home remodel touched nearly every part of the house. From the redesigned entry to the expanded living spaces, the transformation delivers both beauty and function. Highlights include:
- Entry redesign with a new primary bath and closet
- Multi-functional office, laundry, pantry, and mudroom
- Large addition with dining, great room, and game area
- Soapstone fireplace and pizza oven with a sunken game room
- Complete redesign of the primary bath and closet
- All new furnishings selected to complete the remodel
The result isn’t just a fresh look—it’s a home redefined for the family who lives there.
The Power of Remodeling
Remodeling goes far beyond appearances. Families grow, lifestyles change, and what worked years ago may no longer fit today. A remodel adapts a home to life as it is now—and prepares it for the future.
In the Harrisburg project, the family needed more space, flexibility, and comfort. Multi-purpose rooms, expanded gathering areas, and a modernized primary bath gave them exactly that. Now the home supports every moment, from busy mornings to family gatherings.
It’s proof of what Hjellming Construction has believed for more than 60 years: a remodel has the power to transform not just a house, but the way families live in it.

The Details Behind the Remodel
A full home remodel is more than an update. It’s an investment in lifestyle, bringing benefits such as:
- Improved daily living: Multi-purpose rooms make life easier.
- Family connection: Great rooms and kitchens become gathering hubs.
- Added value: A quality remodel improves both function and resale.
- Personal style: Custom finishes reflect the family’s personality.
The Harrisburg home brings all of these to life, offering its family a space that feels new, yet personal.
